The broad western edge
Por Senchey is a large western district of airport approaches, factories, local neighbourhoods and expanding housing. It is too broad to treat as a single residential market. The part near Kakab and the airport is different from the industrial stretches towards Chaom Chao and the outer roads.
The district was formed from sangkats that had previously belonged to Dangkor, including Chaom Chau, Kakab and Kamboul. That history helps explain why the name covers such varied ground. It is an administrative umbrella laid over a city edge that is still filling in.
A work location decision
National Road 4 and the western road network dominate movement. City Bus has selected western routes, while PassApp and Grab provide flexible last mile transport. A motorbike or car makes the district far easier to use, but even then a long central commute can cancel the apparent value of a larger home.
There is no current rent research for Por Senchey in the map record. Inspect the exact road, drainage, power, water, parking and nearby land use. “Near the airport” is not enough information, especially now that Phnom Penh’s new international gateway is south of the established city.
The mistake to avoid
Do not choose Por Senchey by the district name and assume the experience will be suburban in one consistent way. It may be a factory corridor, a local settlement, a new compound or a road facing a half developed plot. The map’s edge condition is a warning to investigate, not a judgement against every address.
Would I live here?
For a west side job, yes. For a central lifestyle, no. Por Senchey can be a rational housing decision for a household whose work is tied to the airport or industrial network. It is a poor fit for anyone who will spend most days travelling across Phnom Penh and hopes the city will make that painless.
