A working waterfront
Tho Quang is not a conventional newcomer neighbourhood. Its identity is tied to the north eastern waterfront, the working harbour, fish trading and the road towards Son Tra’s peninsula. There are homes here, but the port and market activity matter more than the polished coastal image used to sell other parts of Da Nang.
That makes the area interesting for somebody who wants to understand the city’s maritime side, and a difficult recommendation for somebody who wants quiet, predictable streets. The exact block matters enormously. Harbour facing roads bring trucks, early starts and commercial movement. Inland pockets may be more domestic, but the address still sits inside a working district rather than a leisure resort.
There is no researched rent sample or expat share. A motorbike is the sensible assumption for daily life, and longer trips to the central west bank should be tested at the hour of travel. I would choose Tho Quang only with a specific job, family or community reason to be there. For most newcomers, it is better as a place to visit carefully than a default first lease.
