It is less suitable for a first Singapore base if you need late trains, central social life or a wide choice of apartments. The village is local and unvarnished, not an expatriate enclave.
Would I live here?
For the right lifestyle, yes. I would rent only after testing the bus journey and checking how often I would need to leave for work or school. Changi Village is appealing because it is an outpost. That same quality becomes tiring if the household wants a connected urban address.
