District 6 sits on the western side of Chợ Lớn, where market streets and established housing continue into a less visitor-facing part of the city. Bình Tây and the surrounding commercial lanes are the area’s most recognisable reference points.

Daily life is local and road-oriented, with plenty of ordinary services but little reason to choose it for an expat bubble. It can make sense for someone whose work or family life is already on the western side of HCMC.

The honest version

District 6 is a lived-in, commercially busy part of Saigon. Its appeal is value and local texture, not polished housing or easy cross-city travel.
