The short version
Tay Ho Tay is a newer western lake side district still being assembled. Offices, apartments and large development plots sit beside established Tay Ho and the ring road system. It suits a resident who wants a modern building and can tolerate unfinished edges, long walks between destinations and construction that changes the view.
A district in transition
The attraction is straightforward: newer housing, broad development ambitions and access towards the lake, Cau Giay and the airport roads. The compromise is that the public realm has not matured at the same pace. Some blocks feel complete while the next street is still waiting for its shops, pavements or landscaping.
Choose the building for its actual surroundings. Visit at night, look at the route to food and groceries, and ask how construction affects access. Without a motorbike or regular taxi use, the area can feel spread out even when the apartment itself is excellent.
Would I live here?
Possibly, if work and school were nearby. I would not choose Tay Ho Tay for an old Hanoi atmosphere. Its appeal is future facing convenience, and the lease should be priced in emotional patience as well as VND.
