Hipodromo

Cebu City urban core

A compact inner-north residential pocket between Lahug, Mabolo and the business-district side streets.

A compact pocket with a central address

Hipodromo is a small inner north residential pocket between Lahug, Mabolo, Cebu Business Park and the business district side streets. It is useful precisely because it is not a destination district. The area gives a resident a quieter base than the main avenues while keeping several central destinations in reach.

The trade off is street scale. The smaller roads do not always absorb parking, deliveries and through movement gracefully. The route to the nearest main road may matter more than the distance to Ayala or IT Park. Check the building entrance, turning space and evening noise at the exact address.

Hipodromo suits a professional or couple who wants centrality without a tower district identity. It can work for a small family whose school and work are close, but it is not a place to assume that a nearby mall solves the school run. The neighbourhood’s value is its position between better known places.

Would I live here?

Yes, for a carefully chosen side street. I would treat Hipodromo as a block by block decision and ignore grand claims about “uptown Cebu”. It is a useful pocket, provided the pocket’s access works for you.
